YEREVAN. - Anti-hail stations are not functioning efficiently in
Armenia, chairman of Armenia's Farmers Union Hrach Berberyan told
Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"Our anti-hail stations have been constructed according to the
Argentinean model. Recently someone has announced that because
acetylene is explosive it should be replaced by butane. Look what
level the stupidity has reached - butane is more explosive. If a car
is designed for working with gasoline, diesel fuel cannot be used.
There was a case when hail fell on the anti-hail station itself,"
Berberyan said.
The experts exploiting the stations are another issue. Young experts
were sent to Argentina over 5 years ago and experts from Argentina
also came to Armenia. However, currently there is a lack of experts
and according to Berberyan the process must be restarted.
