CITIZENS IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS TO BE EXEMPT FROM PAYING STATE DUTIES

Given the military situation in Syria and the possible political
developments, as well as the threats to about 100 thousands Armenians
in Syria, the Armenian Government is taking urgent measures to ensure
the security of our compatriots and organize their return to Armenia.
During today~Rs sitting the Executive approved the bill on amending
the RA law ~SLaw on State Duty,~T which suggests that foreign citizens
of Armenian descent, whose country of permanent residence is in a
state of emergency, which threatens the life or health of citizens,
should be freed from paying a state duty for the extension of their
entry visa to Armenia. The bill will be presented to the National
Assembly in the prescribed manner.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan explained, ~SIn case of emergency
situation, which our compatriots are not to be blamed for, and if
they are unable to maintain formal procedures, then we free them from
penalties and fines, creating more comfortable conditions for them
to solve their problems, staying in their Homeland.~T
