Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Russel Trood, the Special
Envoy of Australian Prime Minister for Eastern Europe, the Balkans
    and the Caucasus.

"Armenia is interested in the development and deepening of
Armenian-Australian relations," Tigran Sargsyan said, attaching
importance to the mutual assistance in bilateral and multilateral
formats and discussion of issues of reciprocal interest.

Russel Trood conveyed the request of the Australian Government to
support Australia's candidacy for membership in the UN Security
    Council in 2013-2014.

Tigran Sargsyan promised to discuss the issue and present Armenia's
    position before the voting.

The interlocutors attached importance to reciprocal assistance within
international organizations, deepening of economic ties between the
two countries and implementation of practical steps in that direction.
